Scouting Report: Strengths
  • His motor is excellent, and he’s quick to locate the ball and make plays against the run.
  • Agile run-stopper at end, extends to grab backs from the backside and possesses foot quickness and hustle to chase plays downfield. or to the sideline.
  • Bergan has an excellent motor and shows the stamina to last deep into the fourth quarter.
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #90. He wrote, "Even though he’s a bit under 300 pounds, the 6-1, 298-pound senior from Florida, who excelled in high school in wrestling and track, is the strongest player on the Demon Deacons team. Bergan (25 tackles, 5.5 TFLs in 2021) squats 700 pounds and has power-cleaned more than 400. He also vertical-jumped a shade under 30 inches."
  • Bergan explodes off the line with a quick first step, with agile feet to counter inside and closing burst to finish plays.
  • He’s very instinctive when it comes to countering and solid with overall hand usage.
  • Delivers a strong punch and uses his hands to shed blocks to make plays in the hole or outside the box. Uses lower-body strength to anchor inside.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Must improve hand use and read-and-react skills. Lacks the violent hands to shed and can be eliminated by double-team blocks.
  • Bergan isn’t a true edge burner and might be better off kicking inside on passing downs.
  • While Bergan has violent hands, he uses them too inconsistently. Bergan tends to let blockers get into his chest, and he’ll waste time hand fighting due to a limited array of pass rush moves.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
