Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s a decisive runner who gets going north-south quickly and typically gets what’s blocked for him.
  • Cain brings a nice blend of size, speed and power. His best attribute is his relentlessness; Cain consistently thrashes through tacklers to turn minimal gains into long ones.
  • Solid receiver in the flat, capable of running through tackles on the edge to move the chains. Flexible enough to catch passes thrown behind him.
  • He’s not a burner, and he is more of a block-what’s-given runner than a guy who is going to create.
  • His skills as a runner translate nicely to the next level, and he could emerge as an early down back on a team that uses a zone running scheme.
  • He shows good initial burst and runs with violence through traffic. Cain typically finishes runs well, especially in short-yardage situations.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • His playing speed is less than elite. Cain won’t run past defenders like Cain did at the college level.
  • Loses momentum when he gears down to change direction and it takes him a few steps to accelerate back to full speed. Appears indecisive; will dance too much at the line of scrimmage. Lacks natural playmaking ability.
  • Cain really isn’t a guy who will create a lot of separation.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
