Draft Profile: Bio
Oklahoma's first commitment in its 2021 recruiting class, Jackson played at Richmond Foster High School in Texas, the program that produced CeeDee Lamb. He caught 65 passes for 1,366 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior, winning District 10-5A Division I Offensive MVP, then added 57 catches for 947 yards and 12 scores as a senior. The 247Sports composite ranked him the No. 7 receiver and No. 52 overall prospect, and he chose the Sooners over Alabama, LSU and Texas.Jackson played two games at Oklahoma in 2021, catching five passes for 45 yards, then transferred to Houston and appeared in four games in 2022. He later landed at FCS Tarleton State, where he caught 29 passes for 490 yards and eight touchdowns over 14 games in 2024.
In 2025 he started all 13 games for the Texans, totaling 53 receptions for 799 yards and six touchdowns, highlighted by an eight-catch, 140-yard day at Abilene Christian and a 10-catch, two-touchdown game against Austin Peay. Jackson transferred to Iowa State for 2026.

Cody Jackson's career has been a winding one, from an Oklahoma signee to Houston to FCS Tarleton State, where he finally put together the production his recruiting ranking once promised. He led the Texans with 54 catches for 806 yards and six scores in 2025, dropping just one pass all year, a vertical target who averages big yardage per catch and tracks the deep ball well.The obvious caveat is level of competition. His production came against FCS defenses, so the biggest question is whether it translates up, and his slight 175-pound frame invites contact from bigger, faster corners. The four-program path and limited experience against Power Four secondaries add to the projection, and his contested work is fair rather than a strength.
He fits a vertical offense that lets him run and tracks the deep ball, and a jump to Iowa State in 2026 will test the translation directly. Overall, the hands and downfield production are proven, but Jackson projects as a developmental deep threat whose draft case hinges entirely on whether the FCS tape holds up against Power Four coverage. The one-drop season and the clean vertical tape are real selling points, and if the speed and toughness carry to the Big 12, the FCS discount could look like a bargain.
