Scouting Report: Strengths
  • A bit stiff but makes the clean open-field tackle. Good effort in pursuit.
  • Ferocious against the run and very good in coverage, is extremely versatile. Despite his build, Wright holds up well in traffic and makes a lot of plays by engaging a block, shedding, and pursuing.
  • Combines very good instincts with above-average reaction skills. Almost always finds the ball in traffic.
  • In coverage, he shows excellent awareness and anticipation when dropping back into zone, and he has the fluidity and speed to run with most tight ends over the middle.
  • He’s explosive off the line of scrimmage, showing the quickness that sets blockers back on their heels.
  • Gets pressures on inside stunts and was too explosive for college guards to handle.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’ll need to be covered up to be effective. He’s not the kind of guy you can line up in the pass rush and have him bend the edge; he’s limited to shooting through gaps.
  • Wright lacks the ability to anchor and set the edge as a run defender, and Wright too often gets caught up in the wash when chasing in pursuit.
  • Possesses average instincts. More likely to make plays with quick reactions than by diagnosing.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
