Draft Profile: Bio
Landon Tengwall from Good Counsel High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Tengwall opted to join Penn State.

In 2021 as a freshman Tengwall saw action in just 3 games and played a total of 117 snaps for the Nittany Lions. He allowed just one QB hurry, one QB hit, and no sacks while playing the majority of his snaps at left tackle, and the rest at right guard.

As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 5 games and a total of 278 snaps. He conceded 5 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and no sacks while playing at left guard.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Tengwall will have a chance to develop as a right tackle or possibly inside at guard, where Tengwall could be an interesting prospect for a zone-blocking team. If nothing else, that versatility is enough to make him at least a quality reserve.
  • Lighter on his feet than you’d expect considering his size and body type, capable of mirroring as a pass protector.
  • Wide-body who stands his ground and is especially effectively sliding to mirror and hold off outside pressure.
  • Has the functional strength to hold up against the bull rush, and he shows exceptionally quick and precise hands.
  • Hand placement is excellent, and he shows a good understanding of angles when climbing upfield
  • Tall with long arms, he has exceptional length and is a violent, aggressive, and precise puncher who can redirect pass rushers.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • A short-area blocker with limited range and doesn't consistently get to the second level. Will play undisciplined at times, especially in space. Lacks a finishing attitude.
  • Tends to slip off blocks when going against bigger linemen, and Tengwall too often finishes plays on the ground.
  • Attacks when necessary, though he won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
