Scouting Report: Strengths
- Positional blocker who excels when Wallace allows his athleticism to take over.
- Exhibits good patience in pass protection, sitting back in his set rather than leaning and lunging.
- Holds his own in a phone booth, firing off the line with good burst, playing with leverage and showing impressive upper-body strength.
- Showing some nastiness to his game, he will sustain blocks through the whistle, thriving when he’s in the phone booth.
- Quick feet to get inside of defensive tackles to wall off inside and reach linebackers at the second level.
- Moves well and squares to finish on the move. Better anchor than his height suggests and capable of absorbing a punch and recovering quickly.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Heavy-footed, and his technique needs to get much better. Too often in pass protection, Wallace was bending at the waist and lunging rather than moving his feet, a flaw that will be exposed at the NFL level whether he plays inside or out.
- Can be beat off the edge coming out of his stance lunging to reach speedy wide rushers.
- Will punch at smaller defenders instead of latching on and is more of a mauler than mover in the running game. Can improve maintaining outside leverage when doubling the nose. Ducks his head and gets too upright, causing him to fall off second-level blocks.
