Draft Profile: Bio
Raion Strader played football and wrestled at Penn Hills High School in Pittsburgh, where he was a two-time captain and first-team all-conference pick, but he drew little recruiting interest.

Strader became a star at Miami (Ohio). He made 57 tackles and 13 pass breakups in 2023 and was the school's first FWAA Freshman All-American since Ben Roethlisberger. In 2024 he led the nation with 18 pass breakups, made two interceptions and was named the MAC cornerback of the year. He transferred to Auburn for 2025 but played mostly as a reserve, with nine tackles in 12 games.

Strader signed with his hometown school that January and has been a starter for all nine of Pitt's games. He has three interceptions, including a pair in the 27-21 loss at Boston College on 17 October, and he had seven tackles and two pass breakups against Georgia Tech on 31 October.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Picked off three passes this season, including a pair at Boston College
  • Led all of college football with 18 pass breakups in 2024
  • Seven tackles and two breakups as Pitt beat Georgia Tech 34-11
  • Named the MAC cornerback of the year at Miami (Ohio)
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Drew five penalties in nine games so far
  • Gave up a pair of touchdown catches in coverage this fall
  • Lacks the top gear to recover on deep routes
  • Undersized frame that can show up in run support
  • Spent his one season at Auburn mostly as a reserve
Scouting Report: Summary
Strader is a ball-hawking cornerback who has been among the top playmakers in the ACC this fall. He has three interceptions and a long record of breaking up passes, including a national-best 18 in 2024.

However, he has drawn five penalties and given up two touchdowns this season, and he lacks top-end speed. He also could not crack Auburn's starting lineup in 2025.

Overall, Strader is a productive, instinctive corner without elite physical tools. He projects as a priority free agent who will fight for a nickel role.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
