SaRodorick Thompson from Ranchview High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Thompson joined Texas Tech.In 2018 as a freshman Thompson saw action in 4 games for the Red Raiders as he ran for just 102 yards on 23 attempts for 4.4 yards per carry, with 3 TDs, with no fumbles. As a receiver he made just 2 receptions for 10 yards.
As a sophomore in 2019 he played 12 games. and rushed for 763 yards on 159 carries for 4.8 ypc, with 12 TDs, with 3 fumbles. In the passing game he pulled in 38 receptions for 152 yards.
In 2020 as a junior Thompson saw action in 10 games for the Red Raiders. He ran for 612 yards on 109 attempts for an excellent 5.6 ypc, with 8 TDs, with 2 fumbles. As a receiver he made 21 receptions for 124 yards.
As a senior in 2021 he played in 11 games and ran for 504 yards on 109 carries for average of 4.6 ypc, with 10 TDs, with one fumble. In the passing game he had 5 receptions for 107 yards.

- Thompson has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking offchunks of yardage.
- He blends good size and speed, as well as the competitive demeanor of a playmaker.
- He shows very good balance between the tackles, running behind his pads and packing the power to move a pile. He shows good vision and can exploit cut-back lanes.
- Thompson combines good speed with his size, and Thompson accelerates off the line better than most big receivers.
- He’s capable as a receiver, a weapon on swing passes and in the screen game.
- A quick, smooth athlete with the footwork to make sharp cuts and redirect his momentum in a flash. Shows good vision and patience with natural running instincts.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- His hands are good, but Thompson doesn’t show much feel as a route runner and might not be a guy you flex out wide.
- Thompson has constantly ran a limited route tree.
- He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which he ran a limited route tree.
