Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Long-armed press corner with size, athleticism and ball skills.
  • Tracks the ball well and has the natural ball skills for forcing turnovers.
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #59. He wrote, "He received honorable mention All-C-USA honors in 2021 after making 41 tackles, eight PBUs and two interceptions. His sheer speed gets him on this list after reaching 24.16 mph on the GPS. In high school, Thomas was an Alabama state 100-meter champ, having run a 10.4."
  • Great on route recognition and has click-and-close ability
  • In the run game, he’s aggressive coming downhill and a sure tackler.
  • Has a powerful punch at the line of scrimmage and can deliver it while moving his feet. Thomas V also has the powerful core and hips to stick to a receiver downfield and escort him to the sideline
  • Long and fast and has the ability to dominate receivers as a press corner. Thomas V has a strong punch that upsets receivers early in the route, and Thomas V has the straight-line speed to recover downfield if he loses early.
  • He’ll have some limitations in man coverage, but he should develop into a serviceable starter.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Might not be the kind of pure shutdown corner that the top prospects in this draft have the skill set to become, but offers scheme versatility and the ability to slide inside and cover the slot.
  • Like a lot of collegiate corners, Thomas V has a tendency to get grabby, something that will have to be coached out of him.
  • Feet aren’t ideal, as he gets sloppy in his backpedal and can be sluggish when transitioning to close on the ball.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
