Draft Profile: Bio
Tiyon Evans from Hartsville High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Evans joined Tennessee. In 2021 as a freshman Evans saw action in 7 games for the Volunteers as he ran for a decent 534 yards on 81 attempts for an elite 6.6 yards per carry, with 6 TDs, with one fumble. As a receiver he made only 5 receptions for 77 yards.

Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s a natural pass catcher, at his best pulling in swing passes and heading upfield. He’s a natural in the screen game as well. His hands are good enough that Evans can line up in the slot.
- He’s capable as a receiver, a weapon on swing passes and in the screen game.
- Evans is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands.
- His stop-start ability in traffic, exceptional balance, lateral agility and body control allow him to squeeze out chunks of yardage when it appears that nothing is there.
- He’s at his best working in space, showing the quickness and vision of a return specialist. His stop-start ability allows him to create initial separation.
- His initial burst is excellent, and he’s capable of running out of a traditional setup or taking the ball lined up next to a quarterback in shotgun.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- His playing speed is less than elite. Evans won’t run past defenders like Evans did at the college level.
- He has a slight build, especially for a running back, and he isn’t going to grind out yardage between the tackles, as he lacks power and runs with a fairly high pad level.
- Evans has constantly ran a limited route tree.
