Scouting Report: Strengths
- Does a very good job of reading the eyes of the quarterback and reacting with good field awareness and ball skills.
- Flashes intimidating attitude and will crush tiptoeing receivers across the middle.
- Tough and scrappy with forceful nature to be physical at all levels of the field. Has good bulk on his frame to be aggressive in run support.
- He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens.
- Has good ball skills to locate and attack the ball in the air.
- Looks the part with prototypical size and strength for a strong safety - long arms with a fil led-out frame. Extremely strong with natural power to make punishing hits.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Plays out of control too often, laying a lot of big hits but also missing a lot of tackles along the way. Scott also needs to do a better job reading routes when sitting back as a single-high safety.
- He’ll draw plenty of flags early on with his playing style. He is hesitant when facing the action in zone coverage.
- Scott gets beat over the top too often, and Scott tends to panic and get too handsy when running downfield.
