Draft Profile: Bio
Evan Tengesdahl from Wayne High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Tengesdahl opted to join Cincinnati. In 2024 as a freshman Tengesdahl saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 20 snaps for the Bearcats. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- When his hand placement is right, Tengesdahl has the strong grip that allows him to manhandle opponents. Tengesdahl plays with a mean streak and keeps the nastiness going through the whistle.
- In pass protection, he flashes a strong initial punch and typically has good hand placement.
- Displays good awareness when it comes to reading moving bodies, effectively reacting and adjusting. He also shows a good feel for combo blocks.
- Fires off the line of scrimmage with good initial power at the point of attack. Tengesdahl consistently holds his own against mammoth defensive tackles, and his hand strength allows him to grip and move opponents in the run game.
- Takes much more pride in the run game, where he plays through the whistle with tremendous physicality.
- He’s a coordinated athlete who can win at the point of attack in the run game, and he can also move to consistently land blocks at the second level.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Finesse blocker with average arm length who doesn't use his hands well to win at the point of attack.
- Pass protection is a potential issue; while Tengesdahl has a good initial punch and is fairly good with his hands, he’s heavy-footed and tends to stop his feet when he makes contact. He’ll struggle to mirror against quickness.
- Has some limitations in pass protection. Because his length is not ideal for a tackle spot, he might have to move inside.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
