Hurst developed into one of the best interior offensive linemen in the Group of Five at Tulane. A redshirt junior guard, he started all 14 games in 2025, 13 at left guard and one at left tackle, anchoring a Green Wave line that powered a strong season.He was one of the best pass-protecting guards in the country, earning First-Team All-AAC honors and Second-Team All-American recognition from The Sporting News. It marked back-to-back All-American nods, having earned the same honors in 2024.
A 6-foot-2, 295-pound guard with rare athletic testing for the position, Hurst was an elite pass protector, surrendering just one sack all season. After the year he entered the transfer portal as one of the top available interior offensive linemen, bringing starting experience across the interior and the athletic testing that made him one of the more coveted linemen in the market.

His calling card is his movement skills; he pulls, reaches and climbs to the second level with rare ease for the position, sets in balanced, efficient pass sets, and has the recovery quickness to mirror and redirect interior rushers.However, his length and bulk are modest for the position at 295 pounds, so the biggest, longest interior defenders can still get into his chest, and nine penalties on the season are a real concern. Having faced American Conference fronts, the jump to Power Four size is also the projection.
Overall, Hurst projects as a starting-caliber guard whose pass-protection floor, run-game movement and athletic profile are Day 2 traits, with tackle flexibility as a bonus after he took snaps outside. He fits a zone or gap scheme that prizes athleticism and blocking on the move rather than pure mass at the point, and a team that asks its interior linemen to reach, pull and climb will value the film.
