Strengths
- Savvy cover skills to recognize and anticipate routes. Understands what's coming and has good ball skills.
- Closing speed and willingness to make the big hit make him one of the more versatile safeties in the class.
- Aware zone cornerback who is also adept in man coverage, flashing physical hand punch at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield.
- Always seems to find the ball quickly enough to at least get a hand on it. Not afraid to stick his nose into traffic against the run despite his size.
- Has legitimate NFL-caliber cover skills. Has a quick, low backpedal with a fluid hip turn to cover receivers down the field.
Weaknesses
- Holds the ball loosely. Inconsistent in run support. Average tackler
- Not enough hip fluidity to adjust to topnotch NFL route runners.
- Needs to tighten his angles in pursuit. Needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish.
- Can leap but his size will be detrimental in box-out situations. Bites on play-action and isn't always in tune with rest of secondary.
- Only average size for the position.
