Draft Profile: Bio
Ranked No. 86 overall in the 2023 cycle by 247Sports, Birchmeier signed with Penn State out of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia, where he played in the All-American Bowl and won multiple state wrestling championships. ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports all graded him as a four-star prospect, making him the second-highest-rated member of Penn State's class behind J'ven Williams.Birchmeier redshirted as a true freshman in 2023 without appearing in a game. In 2024 he saw action in two games as a reserve interior lineman, logging 16 offensive snaps for the Nittany Lions. In 2025 he remained in a backup role at guard, getting on the field in the season opener against Nevada with a snap at right guard in Penn State's win.
After three seasons in University Park, Birchmeier entered the transfer portal and signed with Liberty, joining the Conference USA program for the 2026 season, his fourth in college football.
