Travis Vokolek from Kickapoo High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 2-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Vokolek opted to join Rutgers.In 2018 as a freshman Vokolek saw action in 12 games for the Scarlet Knights as he made 16 receptions for 184 yards for an average of 11.5 yards per reception, with 2 TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 77.9.
After season's end Vokolek transferred to Nebraska where as a sophomore in 2020 he played in 8 games and had only 9 catches for 91 yards for an average of 10.1 yards per catch, with no TDs, and only QB rating when targeted of 44.0. In pass protection he gave up one pressure and no sacks.
As a junior in 2021 he played 9 games and hauled in only 11 catches for only 127 yards for an average of 11.5 yards per catch, with no TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 74.7. As a pass blocker he gave up 2 pressures and no sacks.
As a senior in 2022 he played 10 games and had 20 catches for 240 yards for an average of 12.0 yards per catch, 2 TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 90.5.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Has smooth body control, reliable hands and natural ball skills to adjust to off-target throws and make impressive catch.
- A coordinated athlete and tough player to tackle, running with low pad level. Has good body thickness and strength.
- Vokolek has strong hands and is extremely competitive, and Vokolek has an innate sense of timing when it comes to elevating and high-pointing balls.
- Excels finding soft spots in zone coverage and using his large frame to shield defenders.
- Works hard on and off the field. Good strength throughout, fluid body control, and natural movement kills.
- Soft hands and good concentration level with obvious toughness in congested areas.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Vokolek has constantly ran a limited route tree.
- Lacks the bulk strength to lock on and control NFL defensive linemen. Lower-body strength is questionable and limits his in-line blocking.
- He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage.
